Government Confirms Renter Protections During National Restrictions
November 15, 2020
Category: News
Further to our last article, dated 5 November, on enforcement guidance for the second national lockdown, the Government has now issued a press release confirming occupants of rental properties will be protected from evictions.
The new measures mean evictions starting in December will not be enforced until the 11th January 2021 at the earliest.
However, there are exemptions for circumstances in which evictions can take part such as fraud, anti-social behaviour, illegal occupation, domestic abuse and a property being unoccupied following the death of a tenant.
