Supporting Our Local Community

For over 20 years, Salford, Greater Manchester, has been the home of Wilson & Roe. We are incredibly proud of our roots and of the vibrant community at the heart of this city, which is why we wanted to support a company that is key in helping our local community.
This week, Wilson & Roe employees Amanda Younie and Emma Owens delivered food and toiletries donated by our staff to Salford Food Bank, as well as volunteering their time at its distribution centre. Emma and Amanda were swiftly put to work collecting donations from local supermarkets, unloading and sorting the stock for packing, and helping to load vans for deliveries to the eight emergency food bank centres around the city.
The Salford Food Bank is part of the Trussell Trust, a UK charity that supports a nationwide network of food banks. As the cost of living continues to rise in the UK, many families are finding it more difficult to meet the increasing costs of food and other household essentials, and the Trussell Trust reported that its food banks provided almost 3 million emergency food packages in the last year.
Amanda and Emma were physically exhausted after their day at the warehouse, but supporting the Salford Food Bank with the fantastic work they do for the community made it more than worthwhile.
